In November, Korakuen area becomes crowded because Christmas is approaching. And Tokyo Dome City’s WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN boosts that mood. This year’s theme is “Edo elegance -Japanese beauty.” Gorgeous illuminations are inspired by Japanese motif such as Edo Kiriko (faceted glassware), temari (ball), origami and bamboo craft.
There are illumination collaborative foods that add more enjoyment to the illumination. Special seasonal dishes are served at cafes, restaurants and bars in Tokyo Dome City.
Bar “2000” is located on the 6th floor of Tokyo Dome Hotel. It has a great view of Tokyo Dome. You may have a seat at 18.44m long counter and see illuminations with original cocktail in your hand.
Three original autumn cocktails inspired by the Tokyo Dome City's WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN are served until November 30th. “Himetsubaki” is a wheat shochu-based cocktail with gigantic peak liqueur and kiwi fruit syrup. “Aozora” is a frozen cocktail with fresh taste of blueberry and yogurt. “Kuriakizuki” is a tequila-based cocktail with chestnut liqueur. You can feel Japanese taste in those three cocktails.
From December 1st to February 17th, you can enjoy three kinds of winter feeling cocktails. “Sekka” is a sake and cherry blossom liqueur elegantly matched cocktail. “Hanamoegi” is a mix of sweet potato shochu and maccha liqueur. “Tasogare” is a perfect harmony of brandy and apple. Their tastes and flavors, even colors and names have mellow Japanese mood and will suggest the new style of enjoying illuminations.
You cannot miss a special cocktail, “Edokanzakura” inspired by the illumination “EDO KIRIKO” in the LaQua area. This cocktail is a mix of top quality sake, plum wine and cherry blossom liqueur having a perfect match of beautiful aroma of cherry blossom and plum, and umami of sake. It is served throughout the period of WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN.
If you want to enjoy not only illuminations but also the great night view, please visit Sounds Stage & Dining “THE ARTIST’S CAFÉ” on the 43rd floor of Tokyo Dome Hotel. The inner part is a restaurant where people can enjoy live music. And the entrance area is a standing bar. In the Artist’s Bar “C Maj7,” you are surrounded by glass windows and enjoy illumination collaborative cocktails casually.
“Green Tea Royale” is a fresh taste sparkling wine-based cocktail. “Japanese Nightfall” is a sweet potato shochu-based cocktail with orange juice. Its sour and sweet taste would be good for people who don’t like alcohol. “Dark Plum Fizz” is a cocktail of plum wine and Amaretto mixed with soda. These three colorful cocktails are as attractive as the sparkle of illumination.
