TOKYO DOME CITY WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN
The season of spectacular illumination has come again this year. It is time to illuminate the WINTER LIGHTS GARDEN in Tokyo Dome City! Let’s see the highlights.
This year’s theme is “Sanshisuimei (the beauty of nature).” It is the same “Japanese style” theme as the last year’s. The motifs of Japanese scenery and four seasons are expressed with colorful illuminations.
MEETS PORT area is perfect for meeting point where the shining Mt.Fuji welcomes visitors. Mt.Fuji’s color is blue in summer, and red in the early morning from the end of summer to the beginning of fall. In this area, you will enjoy the illuminated Mt.Fuji in blue, red, green and gold. These lights and mist produce the romantic atmosphere.
The next is the shining of milky way! Over the Crystal Avenue, there is a 100 meters long milky way. When you look up, you experience dreamy summer night seeing shooting stars, swinging green bamboo leaves and shimmering lights of fireflies around the water. Please check out the lights linked with music, too.
There are lanterns lined up from the stairs of Crystal Avenue to the second-floor aisle and each lantern has different patterns. When they are illuminated, it looks like a gallery of Emaki (a picture scroll) from the Heian period. You will find this year’s illumination mellower than usual.
In LaQua area, there is a cherry blossom tree in full bloom that is the symbol of this winter’s illumination. The 6.5 meters tree changes color to the Japanese instrumental music and it fascinates visitors.
Don’t miss winter illuminations in Tokyo. They are the winter highlight of this city that children, grownups, couples and families can enjoy.
