TAKEO Co., was founded in 1899 as a specialized paper trading company working with both domestic and foreign paper manufacturers. It has developed papermaking in Japan by providing papers for printing and publishing companies. Today, TAKEO CO., is beloved by creators using paper such as art director, graphic designer and product designer. Recently, there are non-professional paper lovers and art students.
First floor is the show room of paper. You can see and touch the paper samples on the table to find a paper with the color and texture you like. If you have a purpose of using paper, such as “to make an envelope” and “to make a card,” please tell the staff what you want. They will introduce papers with a thickness matching your purpose.
TAKEO’s original stationery bland “Dressco” products are also displayed on this floor. There are many different sizes of notes, cards and envelopes. They are made of various paper materials and beautifully designed in detail.
On the second floor, special exhibitions about paper and design are held irregularly. There are print and product samples made of TAKEO paper. They will inspire your creativity. A shop-in-shop called Misuzudo, is a hand bookbinding shop from Nagano and offers tools for bookbinding.
