Green Tea Restaurant 1899 Ochanomizu
Tokugawa family would use the water-spring for tea which gushed out at Kinposan Kourinji, Kanda. That is the reason the district is called Ochanomizu. Green Tea Restaurant 1899 Ochanomizu is the place to feel the origin of the district name. Tea has a nice aroma and good effect to human health. The restaurant’s theme is “eating” tea. You can enjoy the original menu where they use various kinds of tea.


For example, “1899 Original Tea Sausage” contains 3 different kinds of tea such as green, coarse and black tea. Different tea flavors are utilized very well and the sausage is one of the popular plates here. Having a beer cocktail “Matcha Beer,” which is mixture of matcha and beer, with the plate is standard style. There is a wonderful mixed bitterness of beer and matcha. There are variety of alcohol drinks arranged with tea such as “Matcha Wine” mixture of sweet wine and light taste Matcha, and “Green Tea Plum Wine” which received 1st place of Japanese plum wine competition.
