Asakura Museum of Sculpture
Asakura Fumio is one of the famous Japanese sculptures that showed outstanding performance in the early 1900s. This museum is used to be his residence and studio. Asakura himself designed it in a blending of Japanese and Western style.
The studio is a concrete structure with high ceiling. He installed an elevator in it so that he could do his work efficiently.
A beautiful Japanese-style courtyard was at the center of the residence built in Sukiya-style. His aesthetics made them great blending of Japanese and Western style.
This museum is the world filled with the artistic life of Asakura, who grown vegetables at his rooftop garden, loved beauty of orchid and lived with cats.
